I was born in Romania in the town of Șimleu-Silvaniei and two years later, I immigrated to Vancouver where I grew up. My musical life apparently started quite young because I was told that I sang before I spoke.

I then started taking piano lessons at the age of five, took a break, and resumed at the age of nine where I simply fell in love with it and it stuck ever since. Before my university years, I studied with Lisa Hansen at the Community Music School at Douglas College, Sergei Saratovsky at the VSO School of Music and Harmony and History with Mary Fraser. Under their tutelage, I received consistent high marks on my practical and written RCM exams. Apart from piano, I also took voice lessons, sang in choirs, and played flute and piccolo in my high school’s wind ensemble.

Currently I am completing my fifth year at UBC completing my bachelor degree in piano performance with a minor in French, studying piano under Mark Anderson, Collaborative Piano with Dr. Terence Dawson and Rena Sharon, and Chamber Music with Dr. Patricia Hoy, Miranda Wong, and David Fung.

During my years of study, I have won scholarships each year such as the Mildred Johnson Scholarship. Additionally, I was privileged to take part in masterclasses with esteemed pianists such as Jonathan Biss, John O’Conor, Douglas Finch, Ilana Vered, Daniel Shapiro, and James Parker.
