Many of our dancers and singers across all disciplines received numerous scholarships, bursaries, awards and Top 3 placings in local festivals – over 390 individual awards and honours went to Richmond Academy students!

Many of our professional division Jazz students attended NUVO Dance Convention in Bellevue where our dancers, Cailtin Antolis, Helena Ayas, Aiva Back, Hailey Chan, Imogen Kalmar, Alina Krasnoperova, Kate Murray and Ella Yee received overall Tap scholarships! Livia Tong received Musial Theatre Scholarships; Hailey Cheung, Annabel Lai and Angelina received Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary Scholarships; Chloe Pun and Zebee van den Boer received Ballet Scholarships; Lyla Pollard received Hip Hop Scholarships, and Naya Procter received Ballroom Scholarships.

Our Professional Division Ballet students competed in Toronto at the International Youth American Grand Prix and Valerie Chan won the 1st Place of “Top 12 Pre-Competitive Classical Award”, Theresa van den Boer “Top 24 Senior Classical Dancer”, Rachel Yu “Top 12 Pre-Competitive Classical Award”, Sophie Tang “Top 12 Senior Classical Dancer”, Zebee van den Boer “Top 12 Senior Classical Dancer” and Contemporary Ballet Group ‘In-Pulse’ was awarded “Top 6 Large Group Ensemble”! Wonderful work all around!

We are very proud of all our soloists and groups that represented the Academy at the Surrey Festival No Borders Honours Performance, Synergy Showdown, Final “One”, Kiwanis Festival Honours Performance, Festival du Ballet Gala Performance and Phoenix “Pit Challenge”, TapQuest Finals, all by invitation-only! Our students competed in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Voice, Contemporary, Hip Hop. Modern and Acting!

• Our Ballet Group, "Etudes" were announced 1st Overall at Festival du Ballet, Surrey Festival and Allegro. This group received the "Grace" Award and has been chosen to compete at the BC Provincials! 

• Our Lyrical Group "The Thing Is" were announced 1st Overall at The One,  Synergy Festival and Phoenix Dance Challenge! 

• Our Tap Group, "Nattoppet" were announced as 1st Overall Tap Group, Highest Scoring Senior Group, Tap Routine of the Year, and Judge's Choice for Favourite Routine of the entire competition at Synergy Festival, 2nd Overall at TapQuest Festival, 3rd Overall Group at Phoenix Dance Challenge, and 4th Overall Group at The One! 

• Our Contemporary Group, "Besame Mucho" were announced 1st Overall Group at Allegro and Festival du Ballet! 

• Our Hip Hop Group, "Charlie's Angels" were announced 1st Overall at The One and Synergy Dance Festival, and Hip Hop Routine of the Year! 

• Our Jazz Group, "Hypnosis" were announced 1st Overall Group, scholarship winner, and announced as Synergy Showdown Winner! Also, 2nd Overall Senior Group at Phoenix Dance Challenge!

• Our Song & Dance Group, "Slap That Bass" were announced 1st Overall at Phoenix Dance Challenge, Highest Score and 2nd Overall at Synergy!

• Our Lyrical Group, "Sight Unseen" was announced 1st Overall Jr Group at Phoenix Dance Challenge and at Allegro. They were also Highest Score at Synergy!

• Our Junior Jazz Group, "Birds of Prey" were announced 1st Overall Pre-Comp and 5th Overall at Phoenix Dance! 

• Our Contemporary Group, "Arrival" was announced as 2nd Overall at Allegro Festival!

• Our Junior Song & Dance Group, "Super Sea Star Saviour" received 2nd Overall Score at Phoenix and 3rd Overall Song & Dance Group at Synergy Festival! 

• Our Acting Group, "Monster" received 1st Overall at TapQuest! 

• Our Jazz Group, "WEDNESDAY ADDAMS" were announced 3rd Overall at both the Synergy Festival and at Phoenix Dance! 

• Our Acting Group, "Sleepover" was announced 3rd Overall at TapQuest! 

• Our Lyrical Group, "Fly Away" were announced 3rd Overall at Phoenix Dance Challenge and 8th Overall at Synergy Festival! 

• Our Ballet Group, "Quest" was announced as 4th Overall at Festival du Ballet and was invited by The Surrey Festival of Dance to represent at the BC Provincials! 

• Our Song & Dance Group, "Money" were 4th Overall at Synergy! 

• Our Song & Dance Group, "Aloof" were awarded 4th Overall Song & Dance Group at Synergy Festival, and 7th Overall at TapQuest! 

• Our Lyrical Group, “Bound" was announced as 5th Overall Senior Group at Phoenix! 

• Our Junior Song & Dance Group, "When You're A Wimp" were announced 2nd Overall at Phoenix! 

• Our Contemporary Ballet Group, "In-Pulse" received 6th Overall at YAGP in Toronto! 

• Our Lyrical Group,"Litost" was announced 8th Overall at Phoenix!

• Our Jazz Group, "Rolling In The Deep" was announced 10th Overall Group at Phoenix! 

This is only our overall group awards, there were also numerous individual top awards. These wonderful results and accolades in all disciplines highlight the multi-disciplinary training the Academy is known for.
