Naya Sedivy, BCom

JAZZ

Naya began her career at Richmond Academy of Dance training in the professional program.

Throughout her training, she had the opportunity to perform and attend various competitions. Naya’s many accomplishments include being the runner-up representative for PacWest BC provincials, qualifying for the best dancer competition at the Dance Awards, and being a part of Team Canada Dance in 2017, where she represented Canada in Germany as both a member of the adult team (age 16+) and as the assistant coach to the junior team (age 7-11). She has worked alongside various mentors such as Heather Laura Grey, Curtis Foley, Danielle Gardener, Jason Parsons, and Stacey Tookey who have helped shape her love for the arts.

After graduating high school, she continued her passion for dance by joining the UBC Dance Horizons team and became a booking executive to help bring in the best talent to teach at UBC while completing a degree in commerce at the Sauder School of Business. She decided to take on a bigger stage, and in 2022 became a BC Lions, Uproar dance team member, performing in front of 30,000 people and on live television. She has had the chance to perform and work with artists such as Cole Armor, Tyler Hubbard, and Ross Lynch. Outside of dance, she has also been a part of various movie sets including Deadpool 2 and in ads for Ivivva.

Naya's wide breadth of experience, training, and love of children motivates her to be able to teach and inspire the next generation. She is thrilled to be able to give back to the studio that taught her and helped shape her into the individual she is today.
