Josephine Jakubowski, ARAD, BFA

CLASSICAL BALLET, CONTEMPORARY, BODY CONDITIONING & PILATES

Josephine was born and raised in Richmond, B.C., where she graduated from The Richmond Academy of Dance’s Professional Program.

Josephine trained in classical ballet, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, Pilates, and the RAD syllabus, through to becoming an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. During her years at Richmond Academy, Josephine had the privilege of learning from internationally acclaimed pedagogues such as Diane van Schoor, Mercedes Bernardez, Karin Averty, Veronica Tennant, Susan Toumine, Joshua Beamish, Simone Orlando, and Curtis Foley. She performed soloist and corps de ballet roles in classical repetoire including Swan Lake, Serenade, La Bayadere, Paquita, and Raymonda.

Josephine graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) in 2017 with a BFA, Hons. in Performance Dance. Her passion for movement exploration has driven her to work with some of the world’s most esteemed classical and contemporary artists across Canada, USA, and Europe.

In addition to her dance pursuits, Josephine loves to learn and further her education in health and movement. She is a certified Balanced Body Mat and Reformer Pilates Instructor, which she teaches at RAD Rise; the adult program at Richmond Academy. Josephine is also a certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition.

Josephine feels very proud to be a returning faculty member at her home studio. She is excited to continue to share her talents with the Academy!
