Corey Schmitt - Summer Intensive Guest Musical Theatre Teacher


Corey Schmitt is an actor and educator with a diverse background in theatre, film, television, and improvisation.

He trained in musical theatre at Grant MacEwan University, studied classical
theatre at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and honed his screen-acting skills at Vancouver Film School.

Corey has performed across Canada and the United States, touring the Fringe circuit with Be a Man and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. His film and television credits include roles in The Night Agent, The Great Salish Heist, The Girl in the Photographs, and various TV shows and independent projects. A dedicated improviser, Corey performs weekly with Sin Peaks and is one-half of the successful duo Boydream, which also produces original film projects.

As an instructor, Corey is passionate about helping performers develop confidence, physical awareness, and empathy. Drawing on his extensive experience in stage, screen, and improv, he guides students in finding authenticity in movement, expression, and connection, whether on stage, in front of a camera, or in everyday life.
