Cathleen Andrews, DE
CLASSICAL BALLET
Cathleen Andrews began her Royal Academy of Dance classical training in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
She then moved to Vancouver, BC before relocating to London, England and then Paris, France training in each place with classical and contemporary companies.
Her most influential teachers include Sonja Barton and Norbert Vesak in Canada, Anna Northcote and Alice Elliot in England and Raymond Francetti, André Glegolski and Joelle Mazet in France. Summer schools with Vera Volkova and Asaf Messerer were significant boosts to Cathleen’s training.
Cathleen danced with Arts Theatre Ballet, Ballet Classique de Paris and Théâtre Chorégraphique de Rennes in repertoires such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides and the Nutcracker as well as many contemporary works. She has choreographed pieces for Alouette, ACM Ballet Theatre and European Youth Ballet.
For sixteen years, Cathleen directed her own dance centre in Paris where she trained youth to become professional dancers, teachers and choreographers. She holds the French Classical Dance Diplôme d’Etat and is a regular guest teacher at the Seoul Arts High School in South Korea.
