Aaron St. Hilaire

CLASSICAL BALLET

Aaron St. Hilaire (He/Him) is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba where he began dancing at the age of nine.

Throughout his youth, he primarily trained in ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz and spent summers with the National Ballet School of Canada, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet and Arts Umbrella. Upon graduating high school, Aaron was accepted to the dance program at Toronto Metropolitan University where he studied under the direction of Vicki St. Denys. At TMU, he trained in various styles of dance including Graham and Limon technique. His studies were augmented by classes in anatomy, composition, dance history, and economics of the performing arts. After a year at TMU, he joined the Arts Umbrella’s Post-Secondary dance program in Vancouver, BC under the artistic direction of Artemis Gordon. Here he had the privilege of studying works by Crystal Pite, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Sharon Eyal, Johan Inger, and many more. Aaron began teaching dance in Winnipeg in early 2019 and now frequently teaches master classes and choreographs at some of the city’s top studios throughout the year. He now resides in Vancouver where he remains eager to share his knowledge of dance with others.
