Our adult ballet classes are drop-in classes for students with any amount of dance experience, including none at all! We welcome you to explore this beautiful, strengthening art form under our expertise. Classes are held in a grand studio with live piano music. If you are looking to try something new, or get back to your ballet roots, this is the class for you! Classes are based in Vaganova and RAD techniques and are designed to both introduce you to and strengthen your classical ballet foundations. We foster a supportive and encouraging environment, aimed at providing you with the best experience possible.

How much experience do I need to do this class?
This is a beginner-level class, so you don’t need any dance experience! It will be taught at a pace that is geared toward dancers that are new to ballet. However, if you are a more intermediate or advanced ballet dancer, more challenging variations will be given in class to suit your ability level.
What should I wear/bring to class?
Clothes: Please wear tight-fitting, comfortable attire such as fitted athletic clothes or a leotard with tights. We want you to feel comfortable in your clothing, so that you can focus on dancing! Please note that it is important for the teacher to see your alignment so we ask that you do not wear any baggy t-shirts or sweats.
Shoes: Ballet shoes are recommended, however, if you do not own any, jazz shoes or socks work well!
Hair: Pulled back and off of your face! If you have long hair, a ponytail or ballet bun will do the trick.
How is this class structured?
This is a classical ballet class! We will begin every class at the barre with exercises to warm up our bodies then we will move into centre work. As we work our way through class, you will find that the exercises progress to help develop strength, stamina and grace. Class begins with slower, simpler combinations, then we work our way into slightly faster-paced combinations that include more jumps and turns in the centre.

How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign-in and register for class. You are welcome to come earlier if you would like time to stretch before class!
Where can I park?
In our parking lot or on any available, legal street spot. Please do not park in neighbouring lots, beside yellow paint or in a “No Parking” zone. We are also just a 5-minute walk from the Aberdeen Skytrain Station!
