Natasha Usenko: Musical Theatre & Tap Instructor

Natasha Usenko

Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Natasha began her dance career at the Richmond Academy of Dance. Throughout her time with the Academy, she had extensive training in classical ballet, Royal Academy of Dance techniques, tap, jazz, musical theatre, vocal techniques and lyrical. With over seventeen years of dance experience, she has competed all across the Lower Mainland, winning many of these competitions and receiving scholarships.

Natasha has worked with many internationally acclaimed pedagogues such as David Simpson and Jeff Hyslop. She has also had the pleasure to perform with Avril Lavigne and with Cole Armour, both live and in music videos.

Alongside dance, Natasha’s vocal training has allowed her to partake in singing classical and musical theatre voice. She has performed excerpts and solos from Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of Penzance, Marry Poppins and Finding Neverland among others.

Because of her extensive breadth of dance training, she has been able to study, perform, assist and teach a variety of disciplines. Natasha loves teaching children in particular, but has experience teaching students of all ages including adult classes in ballet, tap and musical theatre. Natasha firmly believes that the discipline and lessons taught in dance extend far beyond the studio. She is truly passionate about dance and enjoys helping students reach their full potential while inspiring their creativity.

Natasha’s versatility allows her to take part in many of the Academy’s roles in both dance and administrative work.

Concurrently, Natasha is pursuing an Honours degree in Psychology and Criminology at Simon Fraser University and hopes to continue her studies in Clinical Forensic Psychology.
