Penelope is an independent dancer, teacher and choreographer from the UK, now based in Vancouver. Shetrained in London, UK at the prestigious Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts and completed her post-graduate training at the London Centre of Performing Arts where she earned her ISTD Licentiate teaching qualifications Modern and Associate Dip in Imperial Ballet and Tap. She is now working towards her Licentiate Tap and Modern Fellowship, with a goal ofbecoming a certified Examiner.

After graduating, Penelope began her professional career as a dancer, singer and actress, performing in various dance and musicaltheatre companies, with extensive European tours. She hasnow been teaching for over sixteenyears, preparing students of all ages, abilities and levels for examinations, competitions and performances.

In 2001, she opened her own dance studio, with over 200 students, many of whom have graduated post-secondary institutions with dance focuses and are now successfully performing in London’s West End, incontemporary companies around the world, andon Broadway. Peneloperecently traveled to New Zealand toguest teach and examine over 400 students at Wellington Dance and Performing Arts Academy.In addition, she adjudicated Stage Challenge!, a televised nationwide dance competition.In January 2011, Penelope moved to BCand in September 2012 she relocatedto Vancouver,where she is thrilled to be a part ofsuch a talented and experienced faculty at Richmond Academy of Dance.
