Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Nina trained in classical ballet, jazz and musical theatre throughout her youth. She performed and choreographed in various local productions, however her deepest passion, film, led her to Vancouver to pursue her studies and the industry. In 2001, she moved to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia and earned her BA in Film Studies and English Literature. During that time, work on various short films, independent projects and commercials revealed that the best roles for Nina within the industry were those utilizing her aptitude for organization, efficiency and multitasking. Upon graduating, Nina continued her work in the independent sphere as a first assistant director and producer, while beginning work in the locations department on large-scale productions within the city. Her love of dance and theatre continued to grow even if it was not her focus, and when she was ready for a change from the pace of film production, she was very pleased to find a position as Administrator at the Richmond Academy of Dance, where her organizational skills could be applied in an environment rich with artistry, inspiration, and children who make her smile daily.
